How does global sales work?

To sell globally from Poland, follow a few basic steps:
  1. Decide what to sell with Amazon in each country.
  2. Create your sales account.
  3. List your products in each country.
  4. Ship inventory and fulfill customer orders.
  5. Manage and automate your global business with Amazon tools and programs.

Step 1: Decide what to sell

When choosing products to sell worldwide, start by familiarizing yourself with the tax laws and regulations of each country where you plan to sell. You should also review Amazon's product compliance, safety, and catalog requirements in each country.

Next, take a look at the Amazon product categories in each country. You can use the bestseller lists in the relevant Amazon store to understand which categories might be popular. For example, try discovering bestsellers on Amazon.co.jp if you plan to sell in Japan. You can also use Amazon tools like Marketplace Product Guidance and Product Opportunity Explorer.

If the product is part of a brand registered with the Amazon Brand Registry, the ability to list it and sell it in the Amazon store may depend on your relationship with the brand.

Please be aware that while some product categories are open to all sellers, others require a professional selling plan, require Amazon approval, or cannot be sold by third-party sellers at all.

Tip

List in general, not in detail

Adding a wide selection of products to Amazon's global store can help you understand customer engagement from country to country. Try adding a large number of products from your catalog, rather than launching a store with a small number of products that have sold the best so far. You can remove offers if the products do not sell well. You can also start by fulfilling customer orders yourself so as not to ship inventory to another country.
Branded products
If you are new to Amazon and own the rights to an eligible brand, we recommend that you register it with the Amazon Brand Registry before adding products to Amazon stores. Amazon Brand Registry is free and provides sellers with a suite of additional sales benefits and protection tools, including A+ content, brand analytics, and experiment management.

To register, you need to meet only two basic requirements:

Brand name or logo: The brand name or logo containing your brand name must be permanently attached to the products or packaging.
Trademark: You must have a pending or registered trademark for your brand or logo that is issued by a designated trademark office in the country appropriate for your Amazon store.

Once the trademark of one country is approved by the Brand Registry, you will have a global account that can be used in any Amazon store around the world.

If a product is part of a brand registered with the Amazon Brand Registry, only a brand representative or retailer authorized by the brand can add it to the Amazon catalog using our standard processes (login required). After you add a product related to a registered brand to the Amazon catalog, other sellers can match offers to it. Before they do, you may need to get brand approval.
Language tips
Product listings must be displayed in local languages. You can simplify the translation of product pages using the Build International Listings tool:
It is also required to provide customer support in local languages:

Step 2: Create a sales account

Once you've chosen your selling plan, you'll sign up for Amazon and create a Seller Central account. You can create your account using the email address associated with your Amazon customer account, or you can create one using a separate company email address.

Already selling on Amazon.com?

Even if you are already selling in one Amazon store, you should create a new seller account in the desired destination store. For example, if you sell in Sweden or in the United States and want to sell in Japan, you need to create a new Amazon selling partner account for Amazon.co.jp. You can create your account using the email address associated with your Amazon customer account, or you can create one using a separate company email address.

Not selling on Amazon yet?

If you are new to Amazon and want to start selling in one of our stores, you can directly create your sales account for that store.
Receiving payment
You can use Amazon Currency Converter to deposit proceeds from sales in other countries to a bank account based in your country.

You can also use your local bank account as a deposit method if you sell in another country. For example, you can use a bank located in Germany to sell on Amazon.com. Before opening a bank account in another country, we recommend that you consult with legal, tax and banking advisors, as you may need to create a legal business entity in that country.
Account Performance
If you sell in multiple Amazon stores, the sales performance indicators in different stores are not related. Metrics are measured separately for each sales account.

Step 3: Add your products

Ready to list your products in Amazon's global store?

If you're already selling in one of our stores, you can use the Build International Listings tool to add your products to Amazon's global stores.
Additionally, you can add your products manually if you have fewer than 20 products or in bulk with bulk files.
If you're listing products on Amazon for the first time, you can match listings to existing product pages or create new pages for your preferred Amazon store. You can then use Build International Listings to add these products to other Amazon stores.
Price Tips
If you already sell in one of our stores and use Build International Listings to add products to other Amazon global stores, your prices will be synced between stores based on US prices and pricing policies. Build International Listings periodically adjusts prices to reflect currency conversion fluctuations in other countries. Learn more

You can also create separate listings and set different prices for each Amazon store using our standard product addition processes. If you do not synchronize prices in different stores, you should keep the following points in mind when setting prices for each country:

• Shipping and return costs if you are processing international orders directly
• Customer service costs if you are directly processing international orders, including language service costs if necessary
• Shipping costs if you ship inventory to Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) in other countries
• Conversion costs associated with receiving payment in local currency
• Taxes and duties
Customer Ratings
If you are already selling in one of our stores, your product ratings will be transferred to other global stores, but only initially. These imported reviews remain visible until the product starts receiving local reviews.

Step 4: Ship inventory and fulfill customer orders

You have two basic options when it comes to delivering products to customers.

Fulfilment by Seller

Ship orders directly to customers with a suite of solutions we call Fulfiled by Merchant. We offer a network of trusted suppliers for global shipping that offer discounts.

Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA)

Use specialized programs through Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) to reach global customers in the way that best suits your business. For every programme, FBA handles picking, packing, shipping, returns, and customer service.
FBA Worldwide

Remote implementation with FBA

Reach customers in Canada, Mexico, and Brazil by shopping on Amazon.ca,Amazon.com.mx and Amazon.com.br through a US store. Customers will be able to purchase export-eligible products stored at U.S. fulfillment centers. At the checkout they will see the price, which includes an estimate of import duties, taxes and fees. We will ship to them at no extra cost.

Notes on FBA around the world
When you export inventory to Amazon fulfillment centers in other countries, you can handle some or all of the obligations in the import and export process yourself. You can also hire a logistics provider, such as a customs broker or freight forwarder, who may have more knowledge and time to ensure timely and safe transportation of inventory. You need to involve all logistics providers directly.

When shipping inventory to Amazon fulfillment centers in other countries, you or your supplier must act as an exporter and importer and comply with all applicable laws in both countries. You may also be subject to customs duties, import taxes, and fees in your destination country. Amazon will not be responsible for any customs duties and taxes associated with FBA inventory. Any shipments arriving at an Amazon fulfilment centre with customs duty charges due will be returned to sender.
